The International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) is the newest IB programme.
It is the unique programme designed for students aged 16-19. It equips them with future-ready skills and prepares them to follow their career pathways, combining academic subjects with their own professional interests.
This programme leads to higher (further) education, apprenticeships or employment.
It was specifically developed for students who wish to engage in career-related learning while gaining transferable and lifelong skills in applied knowledge, critical thinking, communication, and cross-cultural engagement.
Career-related Programme students undertake a minimum of 2 IB Diploma Programme (DP) courses, a core consisting of four components and a career-related study. DP courses provide the theoretical underpinning and academic rigour of the programme. The career-related study further supports the programme’s academic strength and provides practical, real-world approaches to learning. And the Career-related Programme core helps students to develop skills and competencies required for lifelong learning.
